Within People & Places Solutions (P&PS) Europe, we require Proposal Manager to join Growth & Sales to work on and lead some of our region’s largest sales pursuits and opportunities. This role exposes you to the heart of the business, sitting at the forefront of delivering our Strategy and the P&PS Europe Roadmap.
Our Proposal Managers are the guardians of our Relationship Based Sales model, leading process, people, and behaviours to achieve successful growth outcomes for the business. The role provides the opportunity to further develop leadership skills and to gain a holistic understanding of our sales process and hands-on experience of the various roles and functions, providing a foundation for a successful career with Jacobs.

You will lead the development of win strategies and compelling sales messages, collaborating with colleagues from Growth & Sales and Operations across all sectors and all levels of the business to convert these into winning offers for our largest and most strategic sales pursuits. This role requires drive, diligence, and a curious, inquisitive nature to develop innovative solutions to respond to our clients’ and society’s greatest challenges.
The successful candidate will deliver the following responsibilities:
Lead the consistent application of our Relationship Based Sales model to win work
Plan, organise and direct all elements of qualification and tender responses
Research our clients’ sector and business challenges, best practice, innovation, trends, and new approaches which align with our Strategy, ensuring you can be a provocateur of thought
Support strategic positioning and opportunity development, including considering commercial models and contractual structures
Form, lead, and motivate cross-business pursuit and delivery teams, establishing the right behaviours to support wellbeing whilst creating high performing teams positioned for success
Develop innovative solutions by leveraging your network within the business to identify existing capabilities that respond to client challenges and create a distinctive competitive advantage
Work closely with colleagues in Growth & Sales and Operations to develop distinctive value propositions that enhance our clients’ competitive position
Translate win strategies into key themes and produce high-quality tender documents with competitive and compelling sales messages to satisfy client business goals, and which comply with our corporate branding and tender requirements
Prepare briefing materials and presentations for clients and senior leadership, and lead development of content for client tender submissions
Apply lessons learnt to drive continual improvement within our sales process
Here's what you'll need
At least 5 years of experience in similar position (proposal coordination, in a work winning role) preferably from a large Engineering company
Engineering or business development related degree
Excellent communication skills (in English language - written and spoken)
Experience at leading and working with teams in fast-paced environments on large and/or complex projects
Strong interpersonal skills to lead and facilitate meetings and build relationships across Growth & Sales and operations
Strong leadership skills, a passion to win, plus excellent writing ability
Proactive attitude, ability to motivate yourself
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Strong attention to detail as well as the ability to establish and meet deadlines/budgets
